Over 1,900 Long Beach Youth Voted
on how to spend $550K of public dollars for
2025 Summer Programs!

This Citywide Youth Participatory Budgeting (PB) process, known as Youth Power PB Long Beach, expanded democracy for young people to decide on the summer programs they need to thrive this summer!
 

During a 16-day voting period in April, along with a Youth Voter Fair kick-off, youth ages 12- 26 who live, work, and/ or play in Long Beach prioritized how to spend $550K of public funds to meet their needs and to help advance the goals of the Long Beach Youth & Emerging Adults Strategic Plan (YSP). The goals center on health and wellness, planning for the future, community care, housing, and transportation.
